About SHS Civil

Our Company employs approximately 30 staff from the Ararat Rural City and Northern Grampians district. We specialise in civil engineering projects, including road construction and stabilising, civil construction and earth works (including bulk earthworks), subdivisions & landscaping, street construction and mining projects. We have the plant & equipment, experience and expertise to undertake both large and small projects.

Lachie

Managing Director

The third generation in the business, Lachie steers the ship. From the day to day running of the business to the overall management of the staff and schedule of works.

Lachie is a local Ararat boy and has worked inside the business for over 17 years.

A keen footballer in his day, he now spends his spare time with his wife and 3 kids on the family farm just outside Ararat alongside his cattle. He is a keen Richmond Tigers fan.

Jimmy

Office Manager

Zach

Construction Manager

Zach is a highly skilled carpenter with more than 8 years of hands-on experience in the industry. For the past 4 years, he has been a valuable team member at SHS Civil, where he not only provides expert carpentry services but also takes on a leadership role as Construction Manager for the team.

Zach loves spending quality time with his partner and their two daughters. He also enjoys catching up with friends and is an avid supporter of the Carlton Blues.

Ryley

Project Manager

Ryley has worked alongside the SHS team for over 7 years. He is a qualified Electrician and brings a wealth of knowledge to the teams he manages. He consults for all projects, specialising in machine GPS for road construction, underground assets and drainage.

Ryley loves the Essendon Bombers in the AFL and also plays footy each weekend. Also a big Tennis fan, his favourite player is Roger Federer.

Nathan

Workshop Manager

Nathan has been with us for 6 years and is responsible for keeping the 100-plus pieces of machinery going in tip top shape for all projects. He manages their maintenance including spare parts, repairs, and air-conditioning servicing. He is a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic and has over 13 years experience in the industry.

A local boy born and bred, Nathan loves spending time with his wife and two boys, as well as riding motorbikes and fishing on the lakes that surround Ararat.
